IRA peace statement
John McDonnell MP, Chair of the Campaign Group and Labour Representation Committee, said:
“This is a historic moment for peace.
Never before in the history of Ireland has there been such a major step forward.
“There must be a generous response from all sides, but especially the Government.
This includes the reinstatement of the Northern Ireland Assembly to demonstrate the primacy of politics.”
