LRC lunchtime fringe meeting at the TUC
With an unprecedented attack on public services, the welfare state, trade union rights and the working class as a whole, there has never been a more important time for trade unions to be engaged in politics. The right of trade unions to intervene in politics is under threat – a real threat to our right to representation through affiliation to a political party. We must defend the right of trade unions to get involved in politics.
Speakers include: Maria Exall (CWU Executive / LRC vice chair), Joe Marino (BFAWU General Secretary), John McDonnell MP (LRC Chair), John McInally (PCS Vice President), MarshaJane Thompson (Chair, Unison United Left)
