Once and For All End the Link Between Labour and Dodgy Donations

All through the last week I have refused to comment on the latest donations scandal that has hit the Labour Party. I have declined all media approaches to comment because like most Labour Party members I couldn't believe that we were back into another dodgy donations episode and I was hoping that all the questions would be answered swiflty and the the issue put to rest.

That hasn't happened and we are now facing the prospect of another Police investigation into the activities of the party hierarchy.

So today I have written to the Prime Minister urging that he take immediate and decisive action to restore the confidence of the electorate in our party. I have asked him to make an early statement explaining that he is putting proposals to the Party's National Executive Committee which end the practice of receiving large scale donations from rich individuals once and for all. I have proposed to him that he announce a cap of a maximum of £1000 per annum is placed on donations from individuals.

I have suggested to the Prime Minister that if the introduction of this cap results in a budget shortfall for the party then any shortfall is made up by the determined rebuilding of our party membership, which has become so depleted over recent years.

We cannot ever again allow our party to be dragged through the media as a result of any untoward financial arrangements.

John I think you need to be out there in the media putting our case. Your integrity will speak for itself.

I heard two lines of that weasly Vince Cable explaining how the ecomony is running on far higher levels of houseold debt than other EU countries and because of our high house prices (wheras countries like Germany still have a lot of renting rather than mortgages anyway and students can still get counciol flats etc correct em if I'm now out of date with this someone)amd so we are heading for a fall. Vince dosen't cut the mustard of course but we can.....

Then send a copy to Mr Hain, because I believe this is all about MR Brown after the next election, he needs the Union money now, demanding with the Tories state funding.

How can Hain not know.

I do not think the people who have left will rejoin just to help New Labour out of a problem. I think the reason I left was looking at New Labour and looking at the Thatcher years I could not see the difference. People go on about the many millions out of work, yes but also they went back to work pretty quick to.

But the problems of donations is this a ploy to get all parties to discuss state funding.

I have a serious problem with the idea of New Labour getting state funding my god the working class will have nothing, then again we have nothing anyway.

Ah well

New Labour might be your party it's not mine, after the mess of the last ten years I could not care if it never wins another election.
